Fractal Memories N.3 / by andrea wolf

2014 | Video installation:projection mapping of found home movies on laser-cut panes | Variable dimensions

Fractal Memories investigates memory as a dynamic system governed by repetitive processes and feedback loops through fractal-like geometric compositions that contain fragments of found home movies. A laser cut canvas engraved with recursive geometric patterns

functions as a container for deconstructed archival footage. Each composition contains found footage featuring different memories. Projected video is mapped onto each fragment of the shape, looping continuously, creating a sense of depth and volume.
